Description
Fun, odd little celluloid brooch depicting a cartoonish figure in mid air centered in a loopy open design. He’s wearing a cap with a ball on the end and is a bit reminiscent of one of Snow White’s dwarfs. Or maybe he’s a wizard or jack in the box. The combination of abstraction and referential forms make it fun to ponder the original intention of the design. Circa 1930s and probably was meant for a child. There are no marks.
Measures approx 1 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches long. Weighs 10.6 grams.
Condition: Very good condition with slight paint loss and patina on the pin. Some glue on the edge of the cap indicates there may have been another element there. C clasp holds fine.
