Circa 1930s to 40s cocktail type ring with a large oval faceted purple french paste set in 4 prongs. The paste has beautiful flashes of color – looks like a genuine amethyst. Wonderful art deco geometric detail on the shoulders and orange blossom flowers on the shank. Bright rhodium finish in great shape. Stamped Sterling and maker mark NOVCO inside two arrows. Gorgeous statement ring from the Art Deco period sure to be noticed from across the room!
Measurements: Ring is size 5, glass stone is 12 x 18 mm. Weight is 4.5 grams.
Condition: Excellent condition with light wear, slight smoothing of detail on the shank, light surface scratches and a couple of tiny edge chips seen with magnification on the purple stone.
Condition scale:
Excellent: light wear such as surface scratches, patina from age, very slight smoothing of detail
Very Good: moderate wear such as scratches, fleabites or nicks to stones when inspected closely
Good: obvious wear such as dents, heavy detail wear and minor damage – wearable without repairs
Fair: heavy wear and/or damage that needs to be repaired for the piece to be worn
