Description
Fun Victorian brooch with raised swirling detail and red, green, blue and yellow foiled paste stones. Base metal appears to be brass or a copper alloy. It’s elegant with a whimsical quality, and nice harmony in the varied elements. It has age appropriate wear, but is aging gracefully and displays very nicely. Measurements: Brooch is 2 5/8 inch x 7/16 inch, weight is 8.6 grams.
Condition: Good condition with even wear. Rhinestones are vibrant and colorful. Probably had a gold wash that has worn on the front, residue of a cleaning agent in recessed areas seen on very close inspection. C clasp in good working order.
Condition scale:
Excellent: light wear such a surface scratches, patina from age, very slight smoothing of detail
Very Good: moderate wear such as scratches, fleabites or nicks to stones when inspected closely
Good: obvious wear such as dents, heavy detail wear and minor damage – wearable without repairs
Fair: heavy wear and/or damage that needs to be repaired for the piece to be worn
