Description
This beautiful antique engagement ring is circa 1920s. The square setting is very sculptural integrating foliate engraving with bold open work. The workmanship on the setting is wonderful. The central stone is a beautiful 50 point Old European cut stone in a raised prong setting. The stone is lovely, with beautiful light return, sparkle and flashes of color with very small clear inclusions that can be seen with magnification. The diamond has a champagne cast. Four French cut sapphires frame the diamond. Stamped 20k and 4359.
Beautiful art deco ring with a lot of presence. Would make a wonderful antique engagement, anniversary or right hand ring.
Measurements: Setting extends 7 mm above the finger, center diamond is approx .50 ct and 5 mm. Sapphires are approximately 2 mm. Shank is 1.5 mm high and .9 mm deep at base. Weight is 4 grams. Ring size is 8.
Condition: Excellent condition with light wear, two sapphires have small nicks seen with magnification. There was a sizing and prong setting for the stone done in yellow gold, the ring has just been rhodium plated for a uniform glossy finish.
