Circa 1920s flapper open back crystal necklace with square cut light blue open back crystal gems. The necklace includes a delicate paperclip link chain and five filigree sections, two of which have an interesting Maltase Cross-like motif. Drop includes a triangular filigree section with a square crystal at the bottom. Sweet art deco floral clasp marked sterling. A dramatic yet delicate piece that could be worn at formal occasions or dressed down.
Measurements: Necklace is 19 inches long including the clasp, center drop is 2 inches. Large crystal is 14 mm, small are 10 mm each. Weight is 8.3 grams.
Condition: Very good condition with tarnish/patina on the silver and tiny flea bites to the paste stones that are visible with magnification. On of the smaller stones has a nick on the table that can been seen on close inspection. Clasp works well.
Condition scale:
Excellent: light wear such a surface scratches, patina from age, very slight smoothing of detail
Very Good: moderate wear such as scratches, fleabites or nicks to stones when inspected closely
Good: obvious wear such as dents, heavy detail wear and minor damage – wearable without repairs
Fair: heavy wear and/or damage that needs to be repaired for the piece to be worn
